If you want straight teeth and a beautiful smile but you’re not keen on wearing traditional metal braces, then Invisalign was designed for you. Bamford Orthodontic Practice in Rochdale specialises in Invisalign - an innovative orthodontic treatment that straightens your teeth with removable plastic aligners instead of traditional metal braces.
Dr Nick Hall and Dr Maria McNally are accredited Invisalign providers and are excellent at customising this treatment option for our patients.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a virtually invisible orthodontic treatment system that uses thin, removable, clear plastic aligners to gradually shift your teeth. It can help treat a variety of orthodontic concerns including crowding, spacing and crooked teeth. However, because the aligners are removable and comfortable, Invisalign treatment will have very little impact on your daily life.
How does treatment work with Invisalign?
If you choose to have Invisalign, we will map out a treatment plan according to our orthodontic assessment and your goals. We will also complete a full digital scan of your teeth using our orthodontic technologies to prepare a 3D representation of your smile before, during and after treatment. This allows you to know what changes to expect during the course of your treatment.
We will then send all the details of your personalised plan to Align Technology, where Invisalign prints your clear aligners so that you can begin treatment. Since these are customised for your teeth alone, as you change your aligners to the next set in the series, your teeth gradually move into the desired positions. You will wear each set for approximately 2 weeks before moving on to the next in the series.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Treatment with Invisalign typically takes around twelve to eighteen months. The length of time varies according to each individual’s orthodontic needs and will be discussed with you at your initial consultation.
What are some of the benefits of Invisalign?
This treatment is highly effective, especially with accredited providers like Dr Nick Hall and Dr Maria McNally. Some additional benefits include:
- Clear – a virtually invisible orthodontic system for more discreet treatment.
- Customised – you will receive personalised aligners fitted to your teeth and a treatment plan specific to your goals.
- Removable – you can remove the aligners while eating, drinking, brushing and flossing, making it easier to maintain good oral hygiene.
