AT BAMFORD
At Bamford Dental and Orthodontic Practice, we're passionate about helping out as many charities as possible, and hold regular fundraising and sponsored events to help contribute to the wonderful work that these charities do. Below are some of the events we've completed in the last few years.
July 2018
Practice partner Mark Edmondson completed a skydive to raise money for The Christie Hospital Manchester, to build their own proton beam facility, after a friend had to travel to the USA to have this treatment carried out. Mark and his skydiving team raised over £1700. A wonderful achievement for a great cause.
March 2019
The practice decided to host the 'Bamford Bake Off', and there were some very strong entries from several members of the team. It was judged by our own version of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood: Lindsay Hall and Syed Hader, who had a difficult task choosing the winner. After some deliberation they announced that the Star Baker was Amelia Baker, one of our lovely young dentists.
Amelia ‘s prize was £100 cheque to a charity of her choice, and she chose to donate to the Alzheimer's Society.
May 2019
Our Specialist Orthodontist, Maria McNally, ran the Manchester Half Marathon to raise important funds for Dementia UK. We all know how much training and determination was put into this. A grand total of £1055 was donated to the charity in July 2019. Well done Maria, fantastic achievement for a great charity!
September 2019
Friday 27th September 2019 saw us host a Bamford Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Several of our patients and team enjoyed cake and hot drinks, and we managed to raise £74.31 for Macmillan! A huge thank you to our staff who baked some lovely cakes and to everyone who donated.
November 2019
Several members of the clinical team hosted the 'Latest Concepts in Dentistry' event at Bury Village on Friday 8th November 2019. This one day event was for dentists to broaden their knowledge and learn from our wealth of expertise at Bamford Dental Practice. We asked for donations to the Springhill Hospice, Rochdale, and raised a fantastic £600. Thank you everyone for a wonderful day.
January 2020
Practice partner Mark Edmondson delivered a lecture on dentistry to the Bolton Rotary Club and received a £50 donation towards the UK Sepsis Trust. It's always great to be able to talk about a topic we're passionate about but the charitable donation makes it even better! Thank you to Bolton Rotary Club for having us!
